What you now need to figure out is how to wrap the wire around the pulley the proper way to make it move back and forth correctly.
I don't know how to explain it in words how to route the wire but it needs to make one full loop around the pulley and attach to the slot in link arm.
You can probably study the dirt track in the linkarm to figure out the routing.
The best way is to loosen the 8mm nut as much as possible to give you some slack in the wire to work with.
The other trick is to drill a hole right through the pulley and shaft and install a roll pin. That way the aluminum pulley will never fall off again. If you leave it like in the picture, the pulley will eventually slide off again.
