Any Tips, Tricks or Cautions on Rewiring 85 900T?

My 85 900T has the environmentally friendly self disintegrating biodegradable wiring. At 190,000 plus miles, the car is mechanically sound, and taking care of the wiring would make it a very reliable, safe and fun ride.
I have access to a donor car and the wiring on it appears to be in very good shape. The donor is a 1986 900S manual non-turbo 16V two door sedan.
I have searched previous postings and believe my best option is to replace the entire wiring harness verses replacing individual wires. I am aware of some differences and hope someone here can point out others. I have access to wiring diagrams and will have to study them further.
Differences I am aware of are:
Ignition system: 85 has breakerless ignitions system with Hall generator, 86 16V non turbo has the EZK breakerless ignition system with knocking sensor.
APC System: 85 APC unit is located under rear seat, 86 APC is in the engine compartment.
LH fuel system: 85 LH control unit receives engine speed input from the ignition coil pulses, 86 LH control unit receives engine speed input from the ignition pulse amplifier.
Aside from the wiring harness and modules, what other items should I grab from the donor car?
Any performance/fuel economy advantages in going totally 86 on the electrical?
I welcome any tips, tricks, or cautions that can help me on this rewiring project.
Thanks,
Polo
