Sealing the air intake/evaporator housing thoughts....

Any good ideas besides of siliconing (is that a word?) the heck out of it.
It is the source of my leak into the floorpan on the passenger side. The drain is clear but...when it rains for an extended period water migrates down the bottom side of it and ends up in my floor. I can feel it coming through along the rubber seal on the bottom of it inside the car. This is good news for I finally have found the leak but....now to seal it!
I'm going to clean it (can feel some grit and dirt on my fingers when running them along the seal) and then I suppose just silicone it as well as I can from the engine side.
Took out the carpet today and at least this process allows a good cleaning of that. Time to super detail the car anyway in preparation for the owners convention!
Any other thoughts on how to end this leak source?
Thanks in advance,
Todd
