OK, this has happened twice now on 2 different cars. After carefully removing, marking and replacing the 4 wire connections on the air control switch, I have lost the high speed fan on the first position (large horizontal arrows). All of the vacuum operations seem fine, just no blower for the first position. This seems to be an issue that I've read about in other posts, normally attributed to hook-up errors. I know from looking at these switches in the junk yard that the connections are not universally the same so I'm not sure that comments like "single gray wire goes second from top" will necessarily help but I'm willing to try if someone has the same vintage cars. FYI, on both my cars (one's '88, the other is '91) there are 5 spades on the switch itself but only 4 wires. The center spade is unconnected. Can anybody help me with some troubleshooting tips here?
