The switches that cut off the cruise control when the brake and clutch are pressed sometimes scoot out in their mounts. You'll find them up near the middle of the pedals, just push them out so that the switch is pressed in when the pedal is in the rest position. If one is loose, it should still stay in the right position for a while.
The vacuum line from the cruise control could be broken, trace it back. Its best to replace the whole line if its broken, but splicing in a piece might last for a while.
