Hi, I'm new to Saabs but have fallen in love with the old body style convertible. I need some advice from people who know this car!
It's a '94 900t automatic with almost 250,000 miles. Has slight rust over one wheel well, trunk lid is rusty (should probably be replaced), panels under rear lights are almost rusted through, and right rear jacking point is starting to rot out. There's also a small hole in the bottom of the trunk. Apart from those spots, car seems sound and drives fine, has a few other cosmetic things, but they're cheap and easy fixes.
I'm pretty good with DIY stuff, so I'm pretty confident that with some POR 15 I can eliminate/patch most of these things, paint and have a much newer-looking car. My concern is how do these guys hold up with that many miles, and is $1,200 a good price to pay, considering how much work I have to put in it? Or is it worth it to drop a little more coin for a body with no rust and a few less miles?
Thanks for any input!
