1992 900 Turbo 16V

Awhile back I replaced my fuel pump with a used one fron a local Saab salvage yard. Th original pump hade a plastic "cap, with a center screw whose main function I believe was to retain the Pressure and Return lines to the top of the Pump.

The replacement pump they provided was a different configuration. It had no such cap at all. Instead, each fitting (Pressure & Return) had a "Tab" which was a part of the molded top of the pump. As you inserted the fitting this tab flexed to the side. When the fitting was fully engaged, this tab snapped into place over the top edge of the fitting to secure it in place. To remove either fitting, it is necessary to flex this tab to the side enough for the fitting to clear it as you pull up on the fitting.

In order to install that pump I had to remove the original fittings from the ends of the lines, and replace them with the fittings which the yard supplied with the pump.

So now that pump needs to be replaced and I'd rather not change fittings again. The yard claims to not have any idea what I am talking about, that the Pump with the screw down cap is all they are even aware of. It's a 40 mile round trip, and I'm separated from my digital camera so I am looking for some help ion identifying the likely year / model the the rpesent pump is from so I can get the same and avoid changing the fittings,

The top of the pum says Saab 4023867. The two ports are labelled "Pressure" and "Return". The electrical connector has 4-contacts.

Any ideas?Thanks,
Paul
