Real tough lesson...engine out again now!!!!

So I rebuilt my 85 900T...bunch or upgrades...2.1 head/intake/injectors/balanced high compression pistons etc etc...for 2 weeks it drove GREAT...and returned 28mpg on the first full tank while still running in. Yesterday I noted suddenly low oil pressure....7psi idle hot and only 12psi cold idle...but 45psi running hot, up to 65psi running cold. Cut a long story short I change the oil/filter....swarf and steel coil caught in the filter!!!!! Also saw a decent oil leak behind the clutch!!! Crank oil seal leaking badly. I'm thinking that steel spring strap on the oil seal has made it to freedom. Took out the oil pressure relief valve...well tried...it's stuck fast and it's open about 1/4" so probably a piece of the steel spring that clamps the oil seal to the crankshaft is jammed in the valve....lovely!!!
So it's engine out to clean the sump out, remove and fix the oil pump relief valve and replace the front crank seal again hoping it never happens again!! At least I caught it right?...if I had no oil pressure guage I'd never have known what was going on until something went really wrong!!! Still a PITA...I was REALLY careful with that front seal...yet it still crapped out!
