I'm SOOOOO bummed...my brand new engine...not 300 miles old...the one with the 2.1 head/high compression pistons/turbo etc etc that I just spent months building up...well that stupid metal band fell off the front crank oil seal...went into the oil pump, jammed the pressure regulator open and dumped a seemingly endless trail of debris around the entire engine. I thought I'd caught it in time...WRONGO! All my new bearings are trashed although the crank itself seems unharmed....but now I have to strip the entire motor to get every tiny scrap of swarf out of all the oilways and bearings....hope to god the cam bearings are OK...but I'm not optimistic at this point. Worst Saab dissapointment for me in over 30 years of Saabing...moral,if there is one I suppose, is to get real stressed over that blasted crank seal!
