OK...
First you pull the fuel hose fittings off from the outside of the gas tank. Those plastic tubes can be brittle, so watch out. Smooth force & twisting so you don't break the little elbows that fit into the top of the pump assembly. Don't mix them up, one supply & one return.
Then you remove the plastic basket assembly (with pump inside) out from the tank. The return hose connects to a tube that loops out the side, squirting back into the basket with a nozzle. That constantly draws gas into the basket to keep it full. That nozzle can get brittle...
When you dismantle that basket to get the actual pump, you'll see a hose from the pump to the top of the basket. Mine was rubber with metal crimp bands. I cut it off & used a worm-screw hose clamp. Others have found that semi-rigid plastic tube like what's outside of the tank. Just in case, you might want to have a few feet of fuel hose on hand since it doesn't cost much. (Size? I don't remember...)
