it doesn't have a cold start injector. If it was an '88 base 900, you'd be right, but it has an FPR, so it's a 16-valve.
For Mike - First, pull the fuel pump fuse, then make sure that you have spark at the ends of the plug wires to rule out a bad cap and/or rotor.
If there isn't spark, then check the resistance of the rotor (should be 1000 ohms) and make sure that the carbon button is still in the middle of the inside of the distributor cap. If they're OK, get fresh spark plugs. Before you put in the spark plugs pull all of the old ones and crank it few times for about 10 seconds each to get the gas out of the cylinders (fuel pump fuse still out.)
Then, put the new plugs in and spark plug wires back on and crank it. Hopefully it'll fire a little bit.
Put the fuel pump fuse back in. Crank it and see what happens.
