I've done this a million times. It's the only way to vaccum out dog hair that gets around the console. All the screws are in logical places. Just keep pulling the puzzle aparts. Might as well pull the seat and console and vaccum. Then pull off the shift boot. If you want to replace the boot undo the three screws holder the shifter and pull the shifter off. You can leave the shifter in place and remove the entire console with seat in place. Then you can get it off the shifter from the bottom, the knob is glued on and to big for the boot. Then undo the screws for the top part of the floor console that are in the hole revealed by the shift boot. It'll lift off with a tab into the console under the e-brake. Then undo the screws under the rear ashtray, pull the rubber from between the floor and dash, pull out the power window switches and disconnect them. Unscrew any front reatining screws, the center retaining screw revealed by the top portion of the console.then whole console should tip up and back and come out around the e-brake. The reverse light switch stick out of the shifter/ignition steel casing and is obvious. When you put it back together make sure the screw retaing clip hasn't fallen off the rear casing of the ignition/ shifter casing.
