I've been reading up on this, and how exhaust leaks can cause backfiring at times. I checked over my exhaust system and it is leak free. Check the downpipe connection, tight as could be, no leaks. Checked the turbo - manifold connection, all is well. I recently replaced the cap, rotor, and plug wires. Cap is bosch, plugs are NGK BCP7ES, Wires are Bulgicord (Sp?). The car is a 1987 900s with a Light Pressure Turbo added.
I've noticed that the car has a lot of blowby, i assume the piston rings are pretty fried after 200k. Could this have anything to do with it?
