How about this?
The throttle position switch is on the throttle shaft, opposite the cable drum. It clicks once when it goes barely away from closed, then switches again at maybe 80% open. That does a few things. Activates the AICV system & over-run fuel cutoff when closed, & shuts off the AC at WOT.
The other little switch might be for the upshift-light system. That disables the upshift light when the throttle is closed. In my '89 that function (upshift light) was performed entirely in ECU software.
