This is purely a limit of what you want to spend... If the car has high mileage, I would certainly check the timing chain, probably replace the guides. You're doing the front seal; check the crank pulley while it's out. Replace both bushings on the p/s pump lower mount, replace both bushings on the alternator mount, and both bushings on the alternator tensioning arm. You're gonna do all the head-related gaskets - have the valve seals and guides checked at the same time, replace if necessary. Depending on how dextrous your tech is, you might do the oil pump seal. It's not a bad idea to replace the water pump, and while it's out the easily replaceable hoses (top radiator, little elbow off the head) are good choices. Another thing I'd personally check is the shift rod couple - it's doable with the car together, but SO much easier with the head off.
That is what comes to mind... just went through this on a new-to-me '91 900Tc. My whole drivetrain came out, so I had a couple other items, but this is the bulk of it. $456 in parts alone... yowch! Fortunately it was my time and not shop time... :)
