If you don't need much out of your system and just want the ability to play cd's, you should just go ahead and get the deck installed by a more honest retailer. I've found with my experience that it is better to stay away from places like circuit city & best buy. They hire people to do installations that know little more about what their doing than my mother does. It's really hard to carry on an intelligent conversation with most of these people! But I would say it might be a good idea to go ahead and replace the entire system (which only consists of 4 speakers anyway) because the stock setup DOES leave a lot to be desired. The original speaker wire is a good 1st thing to replace as you will notice the incredible difference a thicker gauge and better shielded wire provides. But no, your speakers will not blow up. The fact that someone out there probably says that same thing to their customers every day just makes me want to..... arrrrr!!!
