The clucth job isn't for the weak. You need to remove the hood, all the turbo plumbing etc... you have to be able to install the special tool in the pressure plate and if you don't have any pressure in the hydraulics you're sorta screwed. If it was like mine you'll end up using a dremmel tool to cut the pressure plate spring fingers so you can get it all out. Then make sure you use assembly lube on you slave cylinder O-rings so everything slides or you may blow one and have to pull it all out clean it all up and do it again after you rebuild your slave. Don't forget you will need a press or need to make one to install the special tool in the new pressure plate. And if you don't have the tool you'll need to make it.

And don't forget to resurface the flywheel.

So, you aren't only paying for parts and labor, you're paying for all the stuff that could go wrong that you won't have to mess with. I didn't have the cash but I did have the time. It was a good month of spare time overcoming all of the problems I ran up against. And I had it easy because I had the radiator cross member out to fix some frame damage due to a hit and run. I can't immagine stooping over the front of the car removing all of that. I took it easy and sat in a chair. Like I said, spare time.

If you need the car to drive, 1100 might not be too bad.
