Calling all saab techs! auto gearbox has locked up!!!

Here's the deal, I'm doing about 70km/h, I then hear a high pitch screaching sound , then a about 10 sec's later the car locks up! It felt like it jumped into park! lucky I had my seat belt on... a bit embarressed though, it happend in front of about 10 cops while they were on a speeding blitz.

Now the car goes in to gear(auto box), it moves forward a few feet then starts hopping (like someones thrown it into park) It does the same thing in reverse.

I then had a recondition box fitted by mechanic(he said it was the diff and just fitted a reco-box), I got 20km before the same thing happend.

Now I'm thinking it's probably not the box!! he did however recommend to change the inner drive shaft as he said it was on it's way out , that was last thing he touched(the inner drive shaft)

also the car can not be pushed while it's in neutral, something feels like has locked up in there..

ANYBODY HAVE ANY SIMILIAR STORIES!! AND WHAT THE HELL IS IT!

I DON'T WANT TO CHANGE THE BOX AGAIN UNLESS I KNOW FOR SURE WHAT IT IS, WHAT AM I MISSING?
