I own a 94 TC Comm. Ed., of which I have installed a full Simmons stainles exhuast, with dual tailpipes. I park in a garage at work, and believe me, it is louder than the stock exhaust. It is a guttural throaty sound that is more akin to a 5L v-8 mustang than a 4 banger turbo car. On the highway, the exhaust note drowns out the sound of the turbo, which I should say I kind of miss. On the other hand, when around other Saab buffs in my local club, it reminds them that my car, Inga, is definitely not like the others. If you look at your exhaust pipe, if it is oval-shaped, that is an original Saab turbo exhaust. Look underneath the car, if the exhaust system is all stainless steel, then its a performance setup that is definitely better than stock or most of what you can buy at Midas. Depending on the setup and other engine modifactions, a performance exhaust can give you 10-25 more horsepower.
