I'll second those who said "you get what you pay for," but at the same time, let's be totally honest: There is nothing complex or mysterious about a chair. It's a frame, with padding, and a covering. It's not rocket science and there is nothing complex about assembly. I've never seen these particular seats, but I've checked out probably a dozen no-name sport seats and I couldn't say any of them flat-out sucked. Chances are they won't last as long as the OEM seats, chances are the materials aren't high-grade, but unless you're looking to keep your '88 SPG until 2022, I don't think a $600 investment to get you through the next two to three years would be a waste of money.
All that said, I don't think buying *any* seat on Ebay is a particularly good idea - unlike a 22-way adjustable Recaro, seats like these are fixed in all but two dimensions, and you should be sure you're comfortable in them before investing. Your car seat contributes directly to the health of your back, and you shouldn't mess around with things like that.
Someday, I am going to get off my duff and build some adapters to fit other-branded OEM seats into a Saab. Cars like Integras and Celicas have excellent seating, and probably *will* last 17 years... The best I've tried so far, seriously, as from current-gen Hyundai Tiburons - they are a great mix of comfort and support, and unlike Celica seats are wide enough to accomodate larger people easily... at $250ea from the local dismantler, in black leather, they're hard to beat...
