You have to take the heater valve out to replace those barbs. You can get a new Saab OEM valve ($100), a cheap not often recommended aftermarket valve ($30), or grab a valve at the junkyard use it, or replace your broken barb with the one from the junkyard valve.
To fix mine, I'm going look through my junk pile to see if I still have the bad valve (with good barbs) that I replaced on one of my other cars. If I through that one away, then I'm headed to the junkyard. I could use to have an extra valve around anyway.
