I took a look at some photos of the back of the Audi 100 and i can't tell if there are license plate lights anywhere in the vicinity of the latch. The reason i ask is that the method for getting into a C900 convertible trunk with a broken or non-operational lock is by removing the light housing, reaching in to remove the lock cylinder, and then releasing the mechanism with your finger. Problem is that on the Audi the latch and lock appear to be remote from each other.
