timing guide/chain help needed (embarassing) Posted by bryan [Email] (#542) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bryan) on Sun, 23 Oct 2005 16:22:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
i have my motor out for overhaul and now i refit the engine/tranny, flywheel, and timing chain cover with new guides and chain etc.
i cant believe it but somehow i didn't put the chain through the outer guide before fitting the cover. its not going through the guide but above it. now it's all sealed, thought i was moving to the head when i noticed my major oversight, and i dont know whether i need to tear it down again to get the chain propely into the guide. i am horrified at my stupid oversight.
any suggestions? it seems likely that to get it all sealed properly i might have to take it apart and put it back together. i am hoping im wrong!
