I have a 1993 900S 5 Spd. Just recently had the Starter replaced by a 'general' mechanic. He informed me that he had to also replace two damaged Battery (power) cables and that they were probably the culprits in that they shorted out the starter. Just drove to work this morning and the cabin A/C Selector doesn't work. That is, it is a two-position switch (with the snow flake image) on it. Usually, when I press it once it stays in and when I press it again it pops back out. NOW it pops back out whenever I release it. I had to manually hold it in to keep the A/C on. [My passenger side Cooling Fan is non-functioning, so I learned from a previous post to just always run the A/C Cooling Fan to keep the engine from over heating]. Now it is a pain to have to hold the A/C selector button in. I'm contemplating taking the dash apart to possibly replace the switch. But it should be a mechanical issue and the starter repairs should not have affected it. Or am I wrong? There was a mention of the resistor pack and the fuses in a related post. Should I look there? Can anyone give me some pointers? Thanx.
