another thing is to hammer (a small ballpeen one is good. fast hit, not too much mass) the underside of the tie rod joint *gently* to get it to reseat. just a couple of smacks should do it. Also, you should get the tie rod bolt softened up with wd-40 or your favorite penetrating oil before you start this.
when you take the tie rod end off will you measure the distance and count threads (turns) to know what to do with the new one? you should.
