You'll need to pop the ashtray out of the rear and unscrew two torx screws.
Then pull the rubber accordion-looking spacer out between the front console and the center console (it's just stuck in there, no screws, you'll see how it works once you get it out). there are two torx screws holding the center console down.
You should then be able to pick up the center console...if it's automatic you'll have to pop off the cover, if it's standard just move it up some, the boot will generally allow some motion.
At this point you should be able to see the switch. It's possible the brake lever went up too far one time and got the switch out of whack or somesuch.
The switch is a normally ON device...it has to be depressed to turn off the light. If pushing the button doesn't turn it off, disconnect the switch. If the light goes off then the switch is bad.
You might be able to disassemble/clean the switch, I don't know. I would generally replace the switch.
