in my 1989 900 S 5-door...the dome light switch did not work in the #2 position(up)...so i looked on eBay...looked for new ones but it was just not resonable in price to buy a new one!....so i took the switch apart with a screw driver and what i found was that the copper prong for the #2 setting(there are 3 prongs inside)was corroded all the way off...after a few brain storms i came up with a great idea...I went into my mothers craft drawer and found a metal paper brad...i took a pair of needle nosed plyers and cut one on the brad punches off and shaped it like the prong inside te switch!...then i simply took some soldering flax and soldered the peice of brad right to the missing side or the switch copper...i then put the switch back together and now all three settings on the switch work!!
I just thought i would share this with a people because it can sure save you up to $20 or more for a new switch! It did for me! Thanks for listening and have a great day
