Recently my front tires were diagnosed with uneven wear that was obviously caused by alignment being off. So I was forced to buy 4 new tires. But the shop that I bought the tires from (NTB) said I needed an outer tie rod (R) and my mechanic agreed and installed it. Then I took the car back to NTB and they still couldn't do the alignment, claiming I needed both inner tie rods. But my mechanic says I don't need them. His Snap-On guy was a master saab mechanic and he says the inner tie rods never need to be changed. I want these tires to last longer than 2 years.
