You might have the slide pins that use Torx bits instead of allen keys. IIRC, there are a few of those floating around.
Hard to say without looking at them whether it's an issue of the caliper not sliding or the piston not retracting. If you've lubed the points where the pads contact the caliper as well as the slide bolts, it might be the caliper.
Just for the heck of it, try backing the adjustment screw another turn and see how long it takes for it to bind. If the flex hoses on the rear axle are old, it's possible that the lining is collapsing and not letting fluid return. That's been discussed in reference to the clutch hydraulics here.
I'm assuming that it's not an issue of the E-brake cable freezing, even given those temps.
