That's an '86 or later that's been repainted. The only converts with the old headlights (that I've been told of at least) were the '86ers of which there were something like 350, 1 for each dealer or thereabouts. I thought they were all silver. All convertibles were 16V turbo until '92 I know, 'cause you've ridden in one, that was the first year for the NA ragtops. The convertible intro story may be different for Canadian dealers, kinda like where US 242 GTs were all grey but the Canadian ones were black. Too bad that motor was no good- next time we're both home I'll take 'ya out to Shortsville, they've got probably a dozen good motors in there. Maybe slap a set of rings on it if you feel like learning how to do that, but I've never had engine problems in one of these.
I wish you were still up here; I need someone to help bleed a caliper.
