With the newest OG900s you generally have to read the codes to know why the check engine light came on. You can go to a dealer or buy a code reader or fool around replacing parts like the 02 sensor.
As for the radio code input, read the manual that came with the radio or go to midwest electronics and get a manual. You also may find a manual online...try google.
On the old clarion I had (not 93) there was more to it than just entering in the code on the station numbers...had to push some other buttons IIRC. I no longer use clarion. Have changed to Blaupunkt because I can have a CD/MP3 head unit and an indash CD changer where the eq used to be. Of course, if I wasn't already chasing the sunk cost of the indash CD, I would just have replaced the BP head unit with a CD/MP3 with an iPod input and used an iPod as a changer.
Still, some folks claim the CDs sound better than iPods due to compression algorithms. I gotta tin ear so it doesn't matter!
