You may be able to do it without removing the seat back. I think folding the seat forward a little should give you enough room to work. Be careful not to loose the pin - they're small. If you do have to remove the seat, it's held in the car with heavy wire clips over large pins which poke out through the upholstery at the bottom corners of the seat. Pivot the seat forward to gain access to the clips. There are plastic spacer rings which keep the seat from shifting side to side - removing these is touchy, I broke one trying to get it off the pin. I think you have to spread the ring slightly and carefully pull it off.
Once the rings are off, slide the seat all the way to one side and remove the wire clip from the opposite side. Then, slide the seat the other way and remove the remaining clip. When I replaced the seat back, I found I had to drive the pins into the nylon fitting with a hammer in order to seat them. If the pins aren't seated all the way into the fitting, it's impossible to replace the retaining clip. When the pins are driven tightly into the fitting, replacing the clips is easy.
I would first try to replace the handle without removing the seat, though....
