Hey Wayne, you may have stripped splines on a companion flange. Sounds silly but it really happens. The splines on the comp. flange (aka. inner driver) that engage the side bevel gear in the final drive can strip off. When that happens a "no drive" condition results because the torque that is supposed to move the car is wasted just spinning the bevel gears. This is a real easy fix compared to pulling the power unit.
Put the car in park and raise one wheel then see if you can turn it by hand. The parking pawl will lock the differential carrier (ring and pinion) so with one wheel on the ground the other should be unable to turn. If it turns then there are no splines in there anymore. Sometimes you have to pull the comp. flange out to confirm the diagnosis as the friction is too much to overcome by hand (but not by engine). I used to rebuild these T-37 trann'ys a lot and here's the best advice that I can give you: before you pull it out pull the comp. flanges and inspect the splines.
This all assumes that you have ATF in there of course. The most common cause of no drive is No ATF. Good luck.
