Ha! I totally went down this same road years ago with my Sonett...

Everything you say sounds right with the exception of the bit about the fusebox. You don't need it. The LH wiring harness is 100% self contained, and the only thing you need to make it go is a beefy connection to the battery, a ground, and a relatively small switched ignition connection. Those things should be independantly fused, of course, but no point in using a whole fusebox for two little connections. The rest of the harness can be used intact, though it may be easiest to extend the pigtails on the fuel injector connectors - that's easy.

I have no idea what the effect of running LH 2.2 with a 1700cc motor will be. You may have some mixture problems, but who knows? You can always try other ECUs - one from a 900S may be the way to go, since at 4psi boost we're probably talking very similar output as a non-turbo 2.0, and maybe similar AMM/ECU calibration.

Once you get this prototyped and prove it works, consider switching to 2.4 and have Jak make a custom chip for you. I agree that trying it out with cheap/free parts is the way to go.

The distributor is a challenge - but remember that Hall-Effect is Hall-Effect. You can probably pull parts from ANY car with a Bosch ignition system - Volvos, VWs, BMWs. Ford EEC may also work. Once you get your ignition signal, everything else is really just plug & play.

The manifold is not a problem, but may be costly. Any shop that does any intake manifold work will have no problem sourcing bungs for the injectors - they are completely industry standard. I cannot remember off the top of my head what the intake manifold on the Sonett looks like, but you may be better off finding someone to just build up a complete new manifold rather than modifying the stock one to accept the throttlebody and injectors. Which also reminds me - you don't need the stock throttlebody. The only thing you need there is the TPS sensor, which is just a fancy microswitch. You can just as easily buy a microswitch at Radio Shack and graft it to the stock thottlebody! The ECU only needs to know when the throttle is closed to work properly. Of course you can add a second microswitch to signal WOT, but that's hardly important.

At 4 or 8 psi you don't need an intercooler and I wouldn't worry about it. Yes, it's nice, but who needs the complexity the first time out? Happily, the Sonett has an extraordinarily long snout - I'm sure there's room up front for a modest one.

I think that about sums it up. When I started looking at it, I grew discouraged because I really didn't want to put the effort into LH with cost-effective alternatives like Megasquirt out there. Even a stock Ford EEC-IV system gives better tuning options. But, these days you've got Jak on the team, and he's gonna be your best bet for making this run right if he's got the time to put into it.
