I would guess that Crutchfield's comment is true as that part of putting in a new in dash receiver cd player in my '89 900 T convertible was the easiest. I have to guess that your CD player is situated below the head unit where, in my 900, an equalizer was installed. (Both Clarion Saab OEM) All I did was snip the DIN connecter in half and pull it all out, as well as with the ground connector which is a looped configuration. (By the way, make sure you loosed or remove the center console firs to make it easier on yourself.) The wiring harness MAY allow you to do something that simple, but I got zero when I first did it. I wound up hardwiring all the wires using their diagrams as nothing was helping - more work, but I finally got it done.
