i would tend to think it would take far longer to reach operating temp. in summer - and more worse in winter the car wouldnt reach opperating temp, and if it did after bout an 1hr drive that leaves me with out heat for that long.
i have looked at thermos and fan switch that opens at 77degrees whitch i would buy if i was in fla. long term, but seeing how i drive north and get in 0 degree weather i would think 82 fine.
now seeing how the car would try to cool itself at 77degrees
then the heater core would never reach above 77, inturn the cab of the car would be a brisk 77, at winter,
driveing in fla, in the summer for ova 2 hr at 75mph with ac, the cars temp. will heat a tad hotter with 89 thermo and switch, but thats just a tad i dont need.
its just saying, its only a tad closer blowing your head gasket what the big deal.
i know what the 89 set up will do, in summer and winter, and im going to the 82, after that im going to the 77, keep in mind im going to watch gas,heat,and performance, the only reason i want to get my car coolder is i get it into way hot temps, if its not fla its texas, it would not matter if i lived in the north, and never took my car south, cuz i would never see the differnt of what 5 or 8 degrees would do to a motor.
