seb, sounds like a bad relay. It's behind the knee shield left of the steering column. If you have headlight wipers pull fuse #8 to stop the pump. Yes, delayed upshift can be caused by maladjustment of the throttle pressure cable (not "wire"). You could try adjusting the cable yourself. It sounds like you need to "shorten" the cable by backing out the adjuster. Go in very small increments until it's right. Better to have a tranny guy do it as getting it really right requires reading the oil pressure with a gauge while adjusting. Several other things can cause this also but require a transmission expert (T-37 sharp) to correct. Good luck.
