Burbling coolant NOISE!

The car is 1983 N/A Carb. When the car is warming up AND the temperature knob is on full cold all is quiet. BUT when I open the knob to full, I can distinctly hear coolant flowing. If I rev up a little, the noise is even more pronounced. THe sounf is definitely liquid flowing stream.
I have never noticed that on before on a SAAB...or any other car for that matter :-) The heater valve has been replaced with the new plastic type.
Any opinions?
