Lets say you are driving 40 mph, so thats 30 minutes, and the battery has been sitting for a couple of weeks with a small drain on it so its at less than 50% of charge....enough to start the car, but not much more. You really think that 30 minutes of driving at say 1500 rpm is going to fully charge that battery? Lets say its a hot day....and the a/c is running, or a cold day, and the heater fan is blowing....Also, if the battery has indeed been run flat once, or twice for instance, than the ability of that battery to take and hold a charge has been greatly diminished. I find that due to the demands of a/c and the heat generated by the turbo, I am lucky to get a year out of a battery here in South Florida. The trick is to bring it back where you bought it before 12 months, and get a significant discount on a new one, at least where I buy mine....
