One suggestion is to fix the temperature guage right away as overheating can lead to big troubles. There is a sending unit (on my 89) on the front of the block (actually rear of the block, but towards the front of the car) about 8 inches twoards the driver's side from the distributor and just slightly lower in level. The sender could be bad or the wire perhaps has come off. Also pick up a Bently service manual - lots of good info in there. And last, but not least, use the search function at the top of the page to search on "fuel guage" - there was a recent thread describing how to check and RR if necessary your fuel sending unit. What years are your cars? There are some differences from year to year and model to model. Weclome and have fun with your Saabs!
