This car was in need of a little tlc the owner was frustrated it wouldn't run well and did'nt want to but any more money in it. It sat and had some damage by vandels. I bought it for $125. and towed it home and thought I could at least use it for parts. I wasn't to excited about the auto tranny. It didn't run worth a hoot I cleaned the throttle Body and walla it would Idle, it must have been carboned up because the more it was driven the better it ran. After driving it for about a year it would stick in first gear and wouldn't shift out, it was off and on then more often I thought this is probably the end, but after reading some post about servicing the tranny SWEDECAR's post inparticular
I ordered the filter and gasgets and bought the fluid pulled the pans the fluid was nasty, just nasty, adjusted the bands the best I could. Put it back together, put in some fluid flushed the tourqe converter out as he said, filled-topped it off and it has worked and shifted great always since last July. Don't give up on the auto, we drive it every day. Not the same as the standard tanny but works just fine, nice to drive in town and for the clutch shy kids.
