Body Work on 92 Saab Turbo Convertible?

We live in the DC area. Purchased a used 92 SAAB Turbo convertible in excellent condition. My daughter was then in an accident. Pretty bad damage to the driver side rear quarter panel and less so to the driver side door.
It hadn't even passed inspection yet. Otherwise, the car is in good condition. Leather interior is impeccable and roof is new and works. The battery needs to be replaced...
We got quotes up to about 5K to fix. I don't know if it is worth it to fix. Wanted to get some opinions here and if so, does anyone know a body shop where we can get the work done at decent rates?
I have an offer to sell it for 1800. But, with titling fees and taxes etc I'm barely going to make what I've already put into repairing the rear axle... I'm trying to decide really if I can get the body work done for a reasonable cost. This was to be a car my teen daughter could tool around in. I'd pay quite a bit for a decent used car. Should I fix this or buy another used car? I expect more nicks and fender benders and it is a very safe car.
