90 SPG - Left Front Swaybar Loose Posted by Randy Thatcher [Email] (#22) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Randy Thatcher) on Thu, 2 Feb 2006 10:20:49 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Classic, i'm about to leave for 3 months in Japan on Saturday (meaning I can't fix this even if I wanted to b/c of time constraints, including taking it to a shop). What do you know, but the Saab Continuum knew I was going to leave my baby sitting, so I got punished.
FYI, this car is on the way out. It has far too much rust and I now live in CA. No mechanic wants to touch this car, and no one will buy it. I'll drive it until something major goes wrong that I don't want to handle (clutch, etc). Then watch the TSN classies and a certain auction site for SPG bits.
I've heard some clunking in the Front Left corner lately. Unrelated (but got me to look at it), last night my antilock light came on over some speedbumps at my condo. This has happened in the past, and it kinda goes away and the brakes work fine. This morning I think a caliper stuck, but freed up when I backed out. No problems. I stopped to look at the brakes to make sure it wasn't a caliper bolt loose or something. I turned the wheel all the way left and felt around the brakes. No problems jumped out, but I see did the sway bar and red poly bushing were out of the circular fitting where they belong and they were too far forward. It is as though they were pushed fowarward/punched through. That's all the investigation I did as I had to get to the office.
Anyhow, what holds that thing in place? Is this at all common? When I work to put it back in (when I return from Japan in May) what other parts will I need to look at?
Randy
