It won't be quite as simple as just putting the APC in Posted by RS [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: what year?, Max Woodhams, Wed, 15 Feb 2006 09:40:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The APC is a system that's totally separate from the ECU. This is a much more simpleminded system than the NG 900s. You'll want to study the APC circuit diagram on a place like Townsend Imports.
IIRC, the turbo on the Euro LPTs is different than the turbo on the FPTs. I think that it has a smaller impeller for faster spool-up, among other differences.
Shooting from the hip, you'll need a few things, and this list is far from complete. It's intended to give you some food for thought before you jump into the project:
- a circuit to get power for the APC
- a knock sensor that you'll piggyback on the existing knock sensor using a longer bolt
- knock sensor cable
- APC solenoid and associated wiring
- You'll want to put the Pulse RPM input terminals of the APC in series with the pulse RPM input terminals of the ECU.
- An intercooler wouldn't be such a bad idea.
It's doable, but you'll need to research it well before you start a project.
