Tim,
The headlight and heater switch lights are removable. In fact, all three are the same bulb. For the headlight bulb, GENTLY pull the headlight switch straight out, disconnect it from the wiring connector, then grab some pliers and (gently again) pull the bulb holder out of the back of the switch. You'll pull out a long bulb holder with the bulb in it. Assuming you're doing this in the parking lot of the auto parts store, then walk in with the bulb and get a few of the same. (It's also on page 364-1 of the Bentley books.)
For the heater controls, one bulb is in between the fan and heater switches, one is just above and on the driver's side of the lighter, and if there's a third I've forgotten where it is.
Window switch bulb replacement depends on the model year of the car (before or after 1991) but they can be replaced.
Lights inside the individual pushbutton switches are not separately replaceable. The power mirror switches are not lit. Radio lighting is not easily done.

And, if all the lights are out (for example, all the pushbutton/heater/headlight bulbs) at the same time, it's not the bulbs, and you need to turn up the dimmer (rheostat). It's the black knob behind the turn signal switch that looks like an eyedropper. Turn it clockwise.
If that doesn't work, the rheostat may have failed (a common occurrence). Also, be sure the switch itself is not spinning when you turn it (also very common). If you suspect that is the case, gently pull off the rheostat knob and tighten the nut that holds it to the instrument trim.
If your gauges (speedometer, tach, temp and fuel, etc.) are dark, you can remove the driver's dash speaker grille to access those. Depending on the year, you'll need a stubby T15 or phillips head screwdriver.
Instrument lights frequently lose contact with the printed circuit plastic; you may be able to clean the connectors, or you may need to replace the bulb holder. The dimmer for the instruments only (yes, there are two of them) is the knob to the right of the trip odometer reset button. The one to the left sets the clock when you press and twist.

Sappy haabing
