I had a lot of reservations about doing this job, much studying, contemplating, In the end it took about 15 minutes to r/r the fuel filler neck with the new unit.
Inside the hatch remove the two or three plastic screws holding the carpet, peel back the carpet. There is a plastic shield covering the fuel filler neck assembly. Undo the torx screws. I was not able to remove the cover so I just pushed it out of the way. From the outside, undo the gas cover door and remove the four torx screws holding it to the body. From the inside thereare at least four connections with hoses/clamps, undo them all. There is a rubber coupler between the plastic ff neck and the line going to the gas tank. I undid the coupler at the gas tank end and left it attached to the ff neck upon removal. There is one connection underneath maybe the overflow tube that was snapped on my original and the line was dangling. I thought it would be difficult to reconnect this line upon reassembly, but it was not. Once you get the thing out carefully put in the new unit making sure all the connections are the same and tight. Transfer that rubber coupler to the new ff neck. Like I said I had all these reservations and it was a piece of cake!
