Here's what you need to do to keep the throttle plate from scraping the throttle body and causing a problem with your idle. This also helps a jerky throttle tip-in as you start out. Allow the throttle plate to close multiple times under its own power (spring)...don't let it snap shut because this will fool you. See where the wear spot and the sticky condition happens. Remember this spot for future reference. With the throttle plate closed, loosen the butterfly screws and allow the throttle shaft to settle into a nice home position. Gently tighten the butterfly screws and see if this solves the problem. If it doesn't, look for binding in some other areas and then repeat the above procedure until it closes nicely. Over time, thrust action from the return spring can cause this problem and you just need to readjust as needed. Tell us how you make out.
