Check out your NTC (temp sensor) in head under the intake runners. High warm idle when bad. Intermitten might be connector. I'm assuming the lucas ecu uses a temp sensor like the bosch, pretty standard. Runs richer when cold, leans out as engine warms up. N is for negative since the resistance goes down as the temp goes up.
32F.....5800 Ohms
68F(about 20C)......2600 Ohms
176F......320 Ohms
