On my 85, the wires were visibly stripped and bare in the area just before the driver's side door. These wires come from the fusebox and some of them go into the door to control the power window motor and power lock actuator.
The other bad spot was thick bundle of wiring that runs parallel with the fuel rail. I understand that you'll probably not feel comfortable slicing open the loom.
The bad wires can be fixed if you're patient. If you're looking for a project and you already know it may be an issue, don't worry about it!
Also, the 85 turbo didn't come with sway bars, so if you see them installed already, consider it a bonus.
By the way, do you know if it's a 3door or a 4door? I remember being surprised when I went to look at my car for the first time that it was a 4 door. The 85 model year was one of the few years with a 4 door turbo.
