Fing, I used to deal with these everyday and they are almost all VERY tight (don't know why). The most reliable trick I've found for unscrewing them is to use a 12-14" pipe wrench with about a 4 foot cheater and carefully get a good bite on the plug. Be real sure that you are turning it the right way (counter-clockwise, like most bolts). You'll chew up the rim of the plug a little so people may stare at it as you drive by. I never saw one cross-threaded and that would actually be pretty hard to do as there is a lot of metal around that plug hole and it's pretty deep (unlike some other drain plug bores). Good luck.
